Snippets of Pleasure

I'm enjoying this week, despite a heavy schedule of work. Some things this week were just beautiful to me and its those little beautiful things that have kept a smile on my face. They include:

- Finding wild grapes in the woods and eating some. And not dying!
- Falling asleep during The Transporter 2. Being that tired to fall asleep in a movie with that many explosions going on was a very good, heavy feeling...even if I did pay for a $10.00 nap.
- Friends calling me at late-night hours while I'm asleep. I'm happy I have friends even if our schedules aren't in synch. But right now I think nothing is nicer than being woken up by someone who just really wanted to call you, just to talk.
- Brazilian coffee and conversation Sunday mornings with my neighbors, and dinner on Monday with them too. They are too good to me!
- Seeing the sun set over the oil drilling platforms over Huntington Beach. A perfect, round-bellied sunset, slipping behind the water, bidding buona notte to the platforms. The platforms pump the oil...the oil goes in the cars...the cars produce the emissions...the emissions cause the smog...and the smog makes for spectacular sunsets. The cycle was complete.
- Sushi on Wednesdays, with a hug from the owner and a kiss on the hand from the head chef. I tip well!
- Beer and pirate store on Mondays, planning a pirate party on the back of an envelope
- Pretending my cell phone is a sandwich, which made the table of people laugh...I love making people laugh
- Hearing Joy Division's "Love with Tear Us Apart" ...again and again and again at the 6740. People would walk in, put a dollar in the jukebox, and that song would come on. The waitresses, for their part, sang along and shook their butts every time like it was the first time they heard the song all night. Beautiful.
- Dancing in the halls at work, to no music, with everyone thinking I'm nuts. Again, makes some people laugh. Given the week we had at work, people need to laugh. I'm happy to supply it.
- Singing "Happy birthday, dear Big Guns" with my team to one of my employees at work. She was so happy, and we love her nickname.
- The weather we've been having all week has been PERFECT - blue sky, puffy white clouds, cool breezes but warm sun kisses. I've been taking walks at work, every day, twice a day, to get my daily dose of sunshine.
- Looking forward to more things that I know will put a smile on my face

Life is good...how's life treating you?
